In 2019, Pooja was selected to volunteer for WordCamp Asia in Bangkok, Thailand in February 2020, the first conference of international scale in Asia. She was looking forward to her first WordCamp outside India and was excited about her role. Even though the event was cancelled due to the onset of the pandemic, this did not dampen Pooja’s enthusiasm and she is determined to attend WordCamp in its traditional offline format at the earliest opportunity and meet many people in person from the WordPress community from all over the world.
Her passion for contributing to WordPress only grew, leading her to join the Training team . This team creates and maintains lesson plans and prepares materials to support trainers who teach WordPress. Together with other teams , a new platform called Learn was recently launched , which aims to bring together reliable and relevant information in one place in different languages for learning in convenient forms and formats, and Pooja has been actively involved in this.
Pooja wants to share her belief in the power of good: “There’s a huge special lead community that will help you learn, so start learning and try to give back to the community. It doesn’t matter if you know how to code or not, there are many different ways you can contribute.”
