Cristina Pérez , Director of Commerce at Kantar Insights , comments: “While there is an open front that speaks of the high environmental footprint of shipments associated with online shopping, there is a second side and it is the opportunities offered by these types of platforms in terms of the circular economy that are being so well received by Spanish consumers.”

People over 45 also buy items online
The online world is often considered to be the territory of the young, but this study shows that this is not true. In the United States , 64% of online shoppers are over 45 years old. On the other hand, in Saudi Arabia , 64% are under 35.

In Spain, 1 in 2 online shoppers are over 45 years old, with large variations by category. The groups with the lowest incidence of online shopping in our country are those at the extremes (under 25 and over 65 with 7% and 6% respectively).
