Richer' conversations

3. Notifications about activities in the group
In between all the updates on new features, jobs, and comments on your posts, users will soon also find notifications about activities in the groups they are a member of. This should boost the visibility and reach of the groups. Previously, these notifications were in a separate tab.

LinkedIn itself calls it richer conversations : you have more options in the comments under posts. For example, it is possible to reply to comments, you can edit comments and contributions and you can post native videos.

5. Easier management via the app
In 2015, the LinkedIn group got its own app, instead of a spot in the regular LinkedIn app. This turned out not to be a success , and is now being rolled back. This makes it easier to manage groups from your mobile.

These features will disappear
Not only will features be added, a few will also disappear. Because notifications are being buy bulk sms service expanded, group emails of announcements will no longer be sent. Good for users who mainly saw it as spam, bad for administrators who saw an opportunity for a newsletter in it. Group roles will also disappear. In addition to members, you will only have owners and administrators - to keep things simple.

Requirements for a good LinkedIn group
Are you thinking: 'I also want to set up a LinkedIn group'? Our tip: really treat the group as a community. And communities usually form around a common denominator that connects people. Peter Staal already explained this very clearly in this article (although it is about Facebook groups, the principle is the same). For example, our Frankwatching group with over 33,800 members is a community of practice : members work in (online) marketing, communication, social media and technology, or have an affinity with these.

What do you think of these changes? A good step to make the groups more active again?
