After setting your location, choose whether to analyze results for desktop or mobile devices. Since your desktop and mobile search competitors may be different, make sure you choose the right device for your strategy so you can get accurate suggestions.
In certain countries, you can also change the language (this determines the language of the Google results that SEMrush uses to find your competitors and, based on this, give you the best recommendations).
2. Set up pages and keywords
After setting up your targeting, you need to choose the pages on your site for which you want to receive SEO optimization ideas. These should be the most important pages on your site, the ones that bring you the most marketing with stockholder database conversions. If you don’t know which ones, don’t worry: the tool helps you find them.
There are 5 options for loading pages:
Automatic import
Manual import
Import from file
Google Search Console
Organic Search (SEMrush Organic Positions Report)
Let's see them in detail:
Automatic Import (Auto Import)
The automatic import feature takes data from your Organic Search Positions report and a Position Tracking campaign (if you have one set up in the same project) to suggest pages on your website that are between position 10 and position 100 in Google results. We use this range to suggest pages that have the potential to get to the first page of results . The tool offers you a selection of 50 keywords and pages to optimize. If you see keywords and pages in the automatic import that you don’t want to analyze, remove them by clicking the trash can icon.
Manual import
If you choose this option, you can manually enter a landing page and keywords you want to analyze. Keep in mind that the tool does not allow you to set the same keyword for more than one page, as this may cause your pages to compete against each other for traffic from the same search.
Import from file (File Import)
This option allows you to upload a .csv file with landing pages and keywords into the tool (in the first column enter the keywords and in the second the pages you want to analyze).
