In the midst of the third wave of infections on the European continent, the mass events sector continues to look to the future with pessimistic prospects. The current health situation in the United Kingdom has led the Glastonbury Festival to cancel for the second consecutive year the celebration of this important event for lovers of live music.

The organisers are aware that the virus will still be present at the end of June, when the festival was scheduled to take place. The news was announced via the official Twitter account with a message conveying regret at the decision and the possibility of maintaining the deposit paid for tickets purchased in October 2019, with the intention of guaranteeing the possibility of reserving tickets for the 2022 edition.

Following Glastonbury's decision, the sector is facing a possible wave of cancellations at a European level, one of the regions with the highest incidence of the virus.
