Steve Jobs, the legendary co-founder and CEO of Apple, passed away in 2011 and artificial intelligence ( AI ) unfortunately cannot reverse his death. However, what the most vaunted technology of the moment has achieved is to give back the voice to the man who was once the guru of the Apple company.
With the invaluable help of ChatGPT and other AI tricks, technology expert John H. Meyer has managed to revive good old Steve Jobs, at least in the virtual realm . And in a thread posted on Twitter, he has demonstrated how an artificially generated voice imitates with incredible skill the tone of the former CEO of Apple, who would be 68 years old today. And not only that. The AI created by Meyer allows for passionate conversations with Steve Jobs on all imaginable topics.
network with the little bird, Meyer, Tim Cook's predecessor chats happily about his successor at the head of Apple and also about the coronavirus pandemic . The virtual clone of Steve Jobs created by Meyer is able to speak not only in English, the native language of the Apple co-founder, but also in Spanish with a marked Californian accent.

The version of Steve Jobs born from the depths of ChatGPT sounds like the Apple guru has just lifted the azerbaijan number screening curtain on the first iPhone in 2007 (which is also the voice that still resonates in the ears of many fans of the Cupertino company). However, Jobs does not speak about issues from bygone times but about issues that directly relate to the year 2023.
Steve Jobs' virtual clone has divided Twitter users
“This is crazy and absolutely surreal. I trained an AI with Steve Jobs’ voice and then connected it to the ChatGPT API. I then connected the chatbot to Facebook Messenger to have two-way voice conversations with Steve Jobs on any topic,” explains John H. Meyer.
On Twitter, the virtual Steve Jobs emulator has been met with mixed reviews. Some call Meyer’s creation spectacular and others do not hesitate to label the chatbot as disturbing.
"This type of connection with deceased loved ones will seriously affect the mental health of those who are grieving," warns one Twitter user, for example, who nevertheless praises Meyer's "demo."
Experiments like Meyer's give new life to the idea first proposed by the British series Black Mirror in the episode "Be Right Back ." In that episode, broadcast in 2013, a woman uses technology to create a virtual replica of her deceased boyfriend and forges an extraordinarily deep bond with that clone. The plot of this episode seemed completely implausible when it first came to light ten years ago, but today there is already a platform equipped with AI and named Re;memory that allows users to continue "talking" to their loved ones even if they have crossed the river Acheron and have gone on to live in the realm of the dead.
