The PHotoFUNIBER'21 International Photography Competition establishes in its third edition the same categories as in previous years: Nature, Heritage, Photojournalism and Abstract.
In the Nature category , contestants can illustrate natural environments, flora and fauna, water, and other elements of nature. Among the winning images in this category in previous editions, it is worth highlighting the photograph featuring a snake in an ecological reserve in Ecuador.
“As they were shining a flashlight on her and taking her away from the boat, I saw one of the best photographs I have ever taken. It was like watching her dance on the river water gambling data korea and I was thrilled to take a few shots and capture her movements,” recalled the winner of the first edition, Ericka Mataderos, in an interview last year.
The Heritage category also offers a wide range of opportunities to win the award. In this section, images related to cultural elements such as architecture, dance, gastronomy, crafts and music, among others, are common.
A third category allows for telling stories and denouncing certain situations through images. In Photojournalism, prizes are awarded for photographs that express human complexities, sometimes hidden, through facts and actions that represent human values such as solidarity, cooperation, education and personal development. In the last edition, an honourable mention was given to a photograph that shed light on a profession unknown to a large part of the population: the lighthouse keeper. In her image, the award-winning Cristina Fernández illustrated a lighthouse keeper from Santander who has been doing this job for three decades.
Finally, for those interested in opting for more creative images or those that represent an original idea, concept or aesthetic, the Abstract category encompasses these characteristics.
These categories allow us to discover the cultural and scenic wealth of many places around the world, through the contestants who reside in one of the more than 30 countries where FUNIBER is present .
The interest in training in photography has led to the creation of a wide variety of study programs for this purpose. Next May, FUNIBER begins to promote specialization in Photography aimed at expanding training in this field.
