Google Analytics can help you understand the overall health of your website. Track your visitors when they click through to internal pages, leave the site, or follow internal links.

Specifically, focus on product and landing pages. Are your website visitors doing anything? If they aren't signing up for your email list, buying your products, or otherwise interacting with your brand, there's a problem.

9. Determine if your prospects are a good fit for your brand or product
Your target audience must be aligned with what you sell. Every member of your audience must also be aligned with your brand.

For example, GoPro sells camera equipment. This is its core business model. However, it specifically targets people who want to record action-oriented experiences. Its target audience is athletes, adrenaline junkies, and people who love to travel.

Nikon and Canon also sell camera equipment. However, their target doctor database audience is much broader, with a large proportion of their customers being professional photographers.

GoPro's prospecting strategy wouldn't work if it started attracting people who wanted to take portraits of their family and friends. That's not their target audience.

Prospect demographics
Demographic data consists of individual consumer characteristics such as geographic location, age, gender, income bracket, interests, and job roles. You can get this information from many sources, but first you need to know which demographics best match your products.

Let's go back to the GoPro example. A buyer persona for GoPro might have the following demographic characteristics:

Male
Age 20-40
Minimum income of $40,000/year
Bachelor's degree or higher
Simple
Middle or lower management
This is just one example. Others could include women, different age groups, higher or lower income levels, married professionals, or CEOs. However, GoPro should find a reason to include these demographics in its target audience.
