Strong customer authentication and improvements to the 3D Secure payment process Starting with version 2.3.0, you have the option to use 3D Secure if you have Stripe or Braintree integrated as a payment method. When enabled, the customer will be asked to complete an additional step in the checkout process where their bank will ask them to provide additional information (e.g. a one-time code sent to their phone) before the payment is processed.

In version 2.3.1, we have introduced improvements to the Stripe Elements payment gateway design, improvements to the Braintree 3DSecure payment gateway functionality, and revised both SCA payment gateways to ensure PCI compliance in all situations.
