Tianwen-1 Probe Successfully Lands on Mars
The mission marks the first step in China's planetary exploration of the solar system.

On May 15, 2021, at 7:18 a.m., the Tianwen-1 Mars spacecraft successfully landed on Utopia Planitia in the northern hemisphere of Mars, carrying its orbiter, lander, and rover.

The Zhurong rover, named after the Chinese god of fire, carried six scientific payloads including cameras and detectors, and provided first-hand materials to explore the Red Planet's space environment, surface topography and soil structure.

On June 27, 2021, video clips taken by Zhurong were released to the public, allowing people to see the surface of Mars and hear the sounds surrounding it.

Great progress in the construction of Tiangong space station
China sent the core module of its space station, Tianhe, into space at 11:23 a.m. on April 29, 2021. It began a series of key launches aimed at completing construction of China's first long-duration space station, Tiangong, by the end of 2021 this year.

This marks the full realization stage of the construction of China's space station.

On June 17, 2021, China's Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft aruba email address successfully docked with the Tianhe module. The module included three astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming, and Tang Hongbo.

Tianhe docked with Shenzhou spacecraft for the first time.

On October 16, 2021, China's Shenzhou 13, carrying three more astronauts, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu, also successfully docked with the Tianhe module, becoming the second crew to be deployed there.

The trio are still in space for their six-month stay in orbit.

Synthesis of starch from carbon dioxide
The research achievement, published in the journal Science by the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in September 2021, was the world's first case of artificially synthesizing starch from carbon dioxide.

This is expected to have a revolutionary impact on future agricultural production and industrial bioproduction of starch. It opens the way to future chemical-biohybrid synthesis of starch from CO2
